Indian wedding

Indian wedding in Montreal

This was a four day wedding ceremony in Montreal.

On the first day, many people gathered at the bride’s house for all sorts of preparations and celebration. There were rituals, blessings, henna drawing, music, food, etc.

On the day of the traditional ceremony, the bride is dressed in red and she is escorted by her family and friends. The beautiful patterns and richness of the color with gold embroidery in her outfit symbolize commitment and fertility

There are many blessing, prayers, and rituals that are observed during the religious ceremony.

The groom is also nervous and full of expectations.

The ceremony begins with a prayer to Ganesha, the god of beginnings and good fortune and the remover of obstacles. Salutations are offered so that Ganesha may pave the way for the couple’s married life.

There was a ring exchange. We can see from this image, the beauty of the henna, and how much attention have been given to the nails and the jewelry.

The following day, after the religious ceremony, the couple did a typical western celebration, with a white dress, limousine, ride, and celebration at a reception hall.

We went to the park to take some nature shots. The day was warm, the sky clear, and the sun shining. It was nature giving its blessings.

The couple kiss. I wish then eternal happiness.

On the fourth day, the family and friends get together at the house where she is now the woman of the house. They celebrate some more, eat, drink, and spend the day in leisure. Everyone is dress down in casual t-shirts or informal clothing. There is normal life to live after the spender of an Indian Wedding.
