Great Gatsby-themed Fundraiser at Bord’Elle

Event photography is particularly fun when the theme of the event is “The Great Gatsby” and the event venue is Bord’Elle in Old Montreal. With its high, chandeliered ceilings, and lush furnishings, Bord’Elle made the perfect backdrop for this 1920s themed fundraiser benefiting YES Montreal, a non-profit organization that offers career training to English-speaking Quebecers.

The event this year took place on a cool October evening, just days before Halloween – and many in attendance got their costume-game “on”. Suits, beads, feathers, and fringe abounded, drinks and conversation flowed, and aerial acrobatics amazed. Adding to the evening’s sense of fun and anticipation was a silent auction, a best costume contest, and an endless offering of inspired hors d’oeuvres.

Special nights like these deserve to be documented and, for a photographer, offer the perfect opportunity to not only capture memorable event moments but also to sneak in some lovely portrait shots of some “Roaring 20s” alter-egos!
